Volley_Combat Game

“Volley_Combat” is an offline 2-player local-multiplayer game which features a working Menu system, Score system and Winning system. The game is designed with social interaction in mind, as we conducted a survey of 30 random students with age gap 18-24 and found that ‘Player vs. Player’ (80% votes) was considered as more enjoyable compared to ‘Player vs. Artificial Intelligence’ (20% votes). The game is created using software Unreal Engine 5.3 and Blueprints, a visual programming language inbuilt in UE 5.3. Our main reason for choosing Blueprints was that it has faster compilation speed for small games and easy modification. The main concept of our game is a mix of Volley Ball and Mediaeval Scenario with each character having a shield to deflect a deadly metal ball. The metal ball bounces around the map in YZ plane and Goal Zones are set up at each end of screen. If a player manages to deflect the metal ball across the opponents Goal Zone using the shield then that player receives a point. The player who reaches 15 points first wins.
